» Kieran begins NZ triathlon season (04/12/2005)
Sunday 4th of December found Kieran racing at this year’s Central Med Tinman triathlon in Mt Maunganui. This race was Kieran’s first triathlon of the 05/06 season and also his first Olympic distance triathlon since the World Championships in Queenstown in 2003! But Kieran discovered he still had what is takes to win an Olympic distance triathlon.

“I love racing here” he says about Mt Maunganui. “The crowds are great, the weather is always perfect and the course is scenic which all combined makes racing easier and really enjoyable. I can’t wait for the Tauranga Half in January”.

Kieran has just recently signed with Xterra wetsuits, which he praises for his 1st place out of the 1500m swim. “It’s the first time I’ve raced and not had sore arms from the swim” he says.

And heaven forbid if his new best friend isn’t mentioned- his brand new Cervelo P3 Carbon TT bike, about which he comments “I love it. It’s so fast! It gets a kiss after every ride”.
