USA Trip

Well we are now only a couple of days out from the start of my campaign through the US and Canada. The next 8 weeks include the Vineman 70.3 this weekend, Calgary 70.3 two weeks on the 29th of August finishing it off with the big one IM Canada.

My last 3 weeks of training in NZ have pieced together nicely - no thanks to the cold, wet, windy weather and I would have to say I am pretty happy to be in the warmer climate in the USA. We decided to leave a week before the race to make sure I was over any jet lag and ready to start the campaign off with a solid performance.

We jetted into to Santa Rosa famous for Charles Schulz (peanuts creator) and the Sonoma wine country that produces some of the worlds finest wines. What amazing country side with acres and acres of Vineyards flowing through the rolling country side, smooth roads and sun.

After getting over Jet-lag and having a couple of big days training I am now ready for a couple of easier days to freshen up for the race.

From here we will be flying straight to our base in the beautiful home town of IM Canada, Penticton for the next solid block of training leading into Calgary and IM Canada.

I will post more updates of our journey along the way.

Before I sign off a special mention needs to go to our fantastic home-stay the lovely Amy, one of the busy organisers of this weekends race yet she has still found time in her hectic schedule to show us around town and make us welcome in her home.

A big thanks to all my Supporters, sponsors, friends and family
