Kiwi Ironman Kieran Doe is back in full force winning the ITU Asian Long Distance Champs held in Korea. It's been a long road to recovery from a mystery illness forcing him to withdraw from Ironman NZ earlier this year.

Once the problem was diagnosed as an inflamed bowel Doe was prescribed some rest before rebuilding his fitness.

Today he was back in form with a healthy winning margin in Korea. "I am back to full strength having a fantastic race today leading from start to finish to win the ITU Asian long distance champs here today in the Korean mountains in a time of 4hrs 22min with 2nd and the ITU long distance number 1 ranked athlete more than 8mins back."Commented Doe.

Fellow Kiwis Andrew Mackay was 13th and Bevan McKinnon was 20th. No further details or comment is available at this time.

Meanwhile in the women's race Erin O'Hara made it a Kiwi double on the podium following Gina Ferguson home in third place while Joanna Carrel finished 12th.
