» Race plans (21/08/2008)
Hi all,
I’m currently still based in Regina, unfortunately on my return from Europe I picked up a nasty flu which put me in bed for some two weeks almost. I have just finished my 2nd set of antibiotics which really knocked me back but I can now say that I am feeling much better and am finally getting into some light training. With this set back causing a major loss in some important training for my build up to Kona I have made the decision that will I will not compete in the world champs this year at the Ironman distance.
Instead I will aim to qualify for the World 70.3 champs.

I will base myself in boulder for the next two months and plan to race the 70.3 in Muskoka Canada on the 14th September to gage my fitness and 70.3 Longhorn on October 5th.

I will then return back to NZ and start my build up to defend my NZ long distance title before peaking for IM NZ in March.

Thank you all for such great support since Roth and I look forward to some good racing over the next couple of months.

Regards Doeboy
