» Tinman triathlon (03/11/2007)
Hi all,

I raced my 2nd race in two weeks on Sunday and had another win, my 2nd in a row at the Tinman Olympic Distance Triathlon at the Mount!

This race was on the same course as the NZ Long distance champs which will be held in 5 weeks time, so it was a good chance to have a blow out and get some good pacing in what was a strong field.

After a slow start in the first lap of the swim where 4 of us came out together I pushed hard on the 2nd lap to pull away and lead out by 15sec, once on the bike I rode hard from the start getting faster on each lap of the 4 lap bike course to have a 4min30 lead going on to the run so this allowed me to find a nice rhythm and focus on running at my half Ironman
pace preparing me for 5 weeks time, whilst conserving some energy for the next 4 weeks of key training . I crossed the line in 1hr54min 3min ahead of 2nd place.

Thank you to all my, supporters, friends, family and sponsors.

Talk soon Doeboy
